Areas where we always appreciate assistance are with our feeding scheme, weekly groceries, shoes, tights and assistance to get our music department off the ground.
Norkem Park Motors donate pies, pizzas and rolls etc. from their bakery from Tuesday to Fridays for our feeding scheme. We have to make sandwiches on Mondays; so donations of bread, margarine and different spreads for bread are always welcome. It is not always possible, but we try to give the children a treat on a Friday. This could either be a sweet, biscuits or cake.
The following items are what we include in our weekly grocery packs that we send home with the children of needy families every Friday. Donations of these items are always welcome:
- Mealie meal
- Rice
- Pasta
- Samp
- Wheatbix
- Cooking oil
- Tea
- Sugar
- Soya
- Tinned tomatoes and onion mix
- Baked beans
- Washing powder
- Coffee creamer
- Packet soup
- Toilet soap
- Toothpaste
- Deodorant
- Peanut butter
- Tinned fish in tomato sauce
- Long life milk
Many families cannot afford to buy bread, but we have not been able to come up with a way to send fresh bread home to families every day.
We have had two large donations of school shoes and we are now very short of certain sizes. With the approaching winter, we will also need various sizes of black winter stockings to give to the needy children.
We have recently expanded our recorder and keyboard lessons. Our aim is to start a marimba band, as our African children have excellent rhythm. Donations to our music department would be much appreciated, as music is hugely beneficial to the children.
All donations can be dropped off at the school office, or if you wish to make a monetary donation, the banking details are:
