The ability to communicate effectively is one of the most difficult challenges we face in life.
In our English lessons, we focus on developing each and every child to his/her full potential. The skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking are very carefully taught in an integrated approach, with emphasis being placed on allowing each child’s creativity to flourish.
Our school is proud of the fact that we offer specialised assistance to those learners who have limited proficiency in English. They are given special attention in very small groups until they have grasped the fundamentals of the English language.
Many of our learners participate in the Floreamus Eisteddfod. Our school is well renowned for achieving top honours at the Eisteddfod, with many participants taking home outstanding results. Enthusiastic learners spend many hours preparing for the Eisteddfod with the help of their dedicated and talented teachers.
Each year our learners have the opportunity of entering various English Examinations set by external examiners including the Olympiade Academica Examinations, where our learners have obtained impressive results.
Public Speaking is a feature of the Grade Seven curriculum. Top speakers present speeches in our weekly assemblies, competing for the honour of presenting speeches at our annual Prize-Giving ceremony.
