Technology is a new and exciting learning area. It teaches learners to think for themselves as well as to work in groups and individually.
The Technology Process involves four main steps:
- Investigating (Research) – In this stage learners learn to do individual research and to use the resources available to them.
- Plan and Design – In this stage learners plan their designs through working drawings.
- Development (Making) – Learners can only start making the project when stage 1 and 2 are completed successfully.
- Evaluation – In this stage learners evaluate their own projects. This teaches them to recognise faults and to be objective.
The Technological Process teaches learners to identify problems and to find creative and innovative ways of solving them.
